Weekend At Alan’s
Here’s the latest campaign gag I got from the Republican Committee –a takeoff on the teen movie classic “Weekend at Bernies.”
There was no CD inside, and the faux film is clearly seeking to drive home what a lot of observers have been saying for the past two weeks or so: Regardless of whether they really support him, Democrats want to at least drag state Comptroller Alan Hevesi across the finish line on Tuesday to deny Republican challenger Chris Callaghan that spot.
A release from the state GOP explains that Chairman Stephen Minarik sent the CD box to his Democratic counterpart, Herman “Denny” Farrell, who is among the many Democratic leaders sticking up for Hevesi.
Farrell also got a copy of the movie “Weekend at Bernies,” from Minarik, says Ryan Moses, the Republican Committee’s executive director.
