Cindy Sheehan, whose son, Casey a US soldier was killed in Iraq, and is now one of the best known peace activists in the United States, has expressed her support in Malachy McCourt.

McCourt, who grew up in limerick after his parents moved back to Ireland is in the running for Govervor for New York.

In a video statement, Ms Sheehan said that she was supporting Malachy McCourt because she believed the people of New York wanted peace. Mr. McCourt is running on an anti-war ticket in the November 7th election.
