Poor Scotty

Once again, the White House Press Secretary proves that he has the worst job in Washington. At yesterday’s press briefing, his job was to stonewall revealing any information about Abramoff’s visits to the White House.

He kept saying:

If you have anything specific to bring to my attention, please do.

Then a reporter got specific:

Did he meet with Karl Rove, for example?

His reply:

We don’t — we don’t ever tend to get into those staff-level meetings.

I never thought that the White House press conference transcripts would be a major source of humor — but the are. The entire thing is well worth reading. Scotty also talks about Al Gore and Hillary Clinton. And he mentions “September 11″ eleven times.

You must admit. He’s doing a heck of a job.
