[From Appalachian Greens]

1. No tangible, truthful reason has ever been given to justify the invasion of Iraq. The 9/11 commission report- the official government findings- says there was no reason for the war in Iraq.
2. Downing Street Memos ring a bell? These show clearly that the bush regime was dead set on war with Iraq, twisting facts to justify the war and ignoring facts that didn’t fit into their plans.
3. Over 2,134 American troops have been killed in Iraq. Iraq had nothing to do with any attacks on our country and had no capability to attack our country.
4. 46 million Americans have no health insurance.
5. Total employment is down 4.6% since bush took office. The last administration created 22.7 million jobs.
6. Did the photos of prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib make you proud of our country? The bush regime, instead of moving to clean it up, are instead attempting to justify this type of behavior. Does this represent your moral values? Those of lower rank that have been punished, are being used as scapegoats while the big fish, military and civilian, are swimming away. Not only do our enemies gloat at our hypocrisy, it justifies in their warped minds that it is OK for them to do the same to our troops.
7. On the morning of 9/12/01 people around the world felt “we are all Americans now.” Today many of them feel quite different. Do you understand why this shift has happened?
8. The bush regime took the largest federal budget surplus in history, built up during the Clinton years, and in his first term created the largest deficit in history. Do you spend your money this way? All it took was massive tax cuts for the rich- while cutting spending for safety-net programs for the elderly, children and veterans.
9. The bush regime has repeatedly cut veterans benefits and the Republican controlled Congress has axed attempts to provide physical and mental health-care funds for veterans returning from Iraq.
10. Valerie Plame was a covert CIA officer outed by the bush regime as pay back because her husband, Ambassador Joe Wilson, exposed as a lie the bush claim that Iraq was buying uranium in Africa. Under US law, exposing a CIA agent is a crime. So far no action has been taken by the Justice Department to punish those responsible.
11. Are you one of the lucky people living below the poverty line working for minimum wage? The Republican controlled Congress has twice in 2005 prevented you from getting a wage increase.
12. The vice president’s chief of staff has been indicted for perjury, Tom DeLay (R-TX) is up on money-laundering charges, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) is being investigated for insider trading and Randy Cunningham (R-Cal) recently resigned after being forced to admit to taking bribes. They will, no doubt, receive a slap on the wrist.
13. There are over 150 investigations into corruption and theft in relation to no-bid contracts given out by the bush regime for work in Iraq.
14. The money bush has spent in Iraq could have been used to do one of the following:
Hired 4,000 teachers in each of the 50 states for 20 years.
Provided health care for 35 million children for 4 years.
Allowed 30 million children to participate in a head start program.
Provided 11 million 4 year scholarships at public universities.
FULLY fund GLOBAL anti-hunger efforts for 9 years.
Given basic immunizations to EVERY child in the WORLD for the next 75 years.
